By the Mediterranean Sea presents images of the Languedoc coast taken around villages of  Port la Nouvelle, Leucate, Le Barcarès, Torreilles, Sainte Marie la mer, Canet-plage, Le Racou and Collioure. Many French and foreign tourists spend their holidays on these French Mediterranean beaches.

 

The original idea of this book comes from a young girl looking through the window of her parents’ car as they returned home. She’d just finished her holiday by the sea and was obviously dreaming of coming back.

From that moment, I decided to show what this little girl would not see. The empty beaches, the raging sea, wrapping up in sweaters and jackets, the windows that are now closed... The sea side that changes with the seasons, until long-awaited return of the summer holidays...
